Idea #37
A government that bombs the wrong country, issues a fake war on the basis of WMDs that never existed and continues to plunder the oil in the Middle East, while invading the region, must simply zip - zip, zip? zip! - yes - when it comes to violating human rights. Who is the US of A, really, to deny a visa to Narendra Modi on the basis of human rights violations if you look at their track record? And what kind of a threat is Narendra Modi in the US? Sure, he’s had a bad history, but is the US government that stupid, that it thinks that Modi can cause genocide there? For Christ’s sake, Gujjus in America are way too involved with something else: making money for their fraternity. And like my fellow mutineer Shantanu, it pains me to conjure words on a blog in praise of Modi.

No offense, but you really have to be naive (or stupid) to think that the US is denying visa to Modi cos it fears Modi will engage in genocide in the USA. The visa is being denied as a symbolic gesture that inhuman scumbags like Modi are not allowed to step on the US soil.
I agree with rest of the post though.

@Zephyr.
Exactly my ponit. I wanted to post it here but some how couldn’t comment on Mutiny yesterday so made a post on my blog. Here’s what I had to say.
First of, I am not sure why it is such an issue that he is denied the Visa. Why must we even talk about it? Anyway here’s what I think. No US isn’t that stupid, they didn’t deny the visa because they were afraid Modi would go and create a genocide there. They denied it because they are the only ones who could show the middle finger to Modi and they rightly did so. Makes me happy.
What could we do to Modi with all the agitations, all the long long pages written and published against the Gujrat genocide all the ‘Action Aid’ actions, the online petitions, the facebook groups…What good were they for? Modi won the elections with flying colors, still ruling over the very people whose family’s he probably destroyed. In the end Modi showed the middle finger to all his critic in this country. Bush has the power to shame him and he rightly did so.
I suggest all these nations criticizing US for the war on Iraq and all the WMD stories should try showing the middle finger to Bush the next time he wishes to pay a visit to one of these countries. I would like to see who got the balls to deny a visa to Bush on these grounds of fake WMDs and all. All empty talks.
It’s a bloody game of power, no prize for guessing who commands all the power here.

Husain can come home the day he wants to. It’s just that he wants to paint a few more nudes & for that he has to be alive. India as you know it is full of the minority murdering types these days…

EXCEPRT from that link for those of who that will never try to read what is true:
For the so-called secularists of India and of Indian origin in the US, Christian or Muslim fundamentalism is all right but Hindu assertiveness is a sin.
Who are the people in the US whose help they sought to humiliate Modi and to teach him a lesson?
Those who supported the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. Those who strongly opposed any action or even an inquiry against Rumsfeld and his senior officers for the gross violation of human rights of Iraqis. Those who justified or rationalised the inhuman treatment of Muslims by the US in the detention centre at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. Those who are supporting the call for a regime change in Iran.
These are the elements which are closest to the US administration, and their intervention against Modi at the urging of the so-called secularists, led to the humiliation of an Indian by the US at the instance of other Indians. They have not so far been able to succeed in their attempts to drive him out of power in Gujarat. So they sought America’s intervention.
In the US, large sections of the population have been calling for action against Rumsfeld for the human rights violations in Iraq. They have not succeeded. Have they taken their case to a foreign government or court to teach him a lesson? No. And they never will. They would consider it unpatriotic.
Not in India and among sections of Indians abroad. If one Indian stabs another Indian in the back with the help of a foreign power, he is considered a progressive, a liberal, a secularist. Cry, the beloved country
…………………………………………….
You’d support BUSH…whose govt is guilty of far more human right violitions than Modi has the power to attempt. And I’m the one whose lost it. Pity!
