How to Offend Hindu Culture
There should be a book on this. Seriously. It seems that if you are successful, someone will find a way in which you are offending Hindu culture and make an issue out of it.
If Tamil actress Shriya wants to look good for a award show, how is it affecting Hindu culture? Who decides Hindu culture? Is Kama Sutra really Hindu? Will there be an end to this? I don’t think so. Because the issue here is not anyone’s culture. It’s about trying to get some cheap publicity by victimising individuals.
A local Hindu organisation in Chennai has lodged a police complaint against Shriya, who starred opposite Rajnikanth in the Tamil blockbuster, Sivaji-The Boss, objecting to the outfit worn by her during the 175th day celebration of the film. In the complaint, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) alleged that Shriya’s outfit had offended Hindu culture.
I’m going to remain the Mutiny to India Makkal Katchi go after these goons of culture. Not matter that religion, region or culture they are from. If you try to go after Indians with these baseless allegations, we will react.
Sherya, for the record. You looked great!

Offended Hindu culture?????????? These people didn’t read Amar Chitra Kathas I’m sure. Or watch Bharat Ek Khoj. What do these people read or watch, I don’t understand. Shakuntala (the Mother of “Bharat”?) was always depicted scantily clad.
And with the way our modern movies our going, if these people chased down every inch of skin exposed, they’d be overworked. I refer to Sun TV, Neha Dhupia, Esha Deol… My mouth is watering, I must stop.
Go after them Chacko!!!

Take the example of PMK(pattali makkal katchi.) our honrbl(ahem!) health minister Mr.Anbumani ramdoss hails from this party…
They have some stupendous & draconian plans for protecting the “Tamil culture

@Sanjukta, the problem is that if she decides to fight and a case is filed. She will be stuck with a case for years. Imagine how many shoots in Switzerland and Malaysia that will lead to.

It is sad to see ignorant people defining “Indian Culture ” [ Hindu Culture ] and hurt the feelings of innocent people. I can never understand that.
“UTMOST FREEDOM OF THOUGHTS And ACTIONS” is the very best aspect of Hindu Cultue.
Even an atheist can openly condemn Hindu culture in the market place and at the same time proudly proclaim he or she is a Hindu.
For example, CHARVAKA philosophy or NASTIKA philosophy, [existed during the Vedic period] founded by CHARVAKA rejected the existence of God and considered religion as an aberration. Nobody killed him. He died of old age.
Voltaire in Essay on Tolerance wrote: “I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it. ”
Hindu culture is the symbolic representation of what Voltaire wrote.

Actually congrats to HMK on this form of civilized protest! They felt offended by someones dress they lodged a complaint with police. I will do the same thing, if I don’t like my neighbor wearing a dhoti, I’ll lodge a complaint with the police.
It is now upto the govt. of Tamil Nadu to do whats right. If they feel her dress was inappropriate then ban it, else reject the complaint.
This should serve as a lesson to Islamic fundamentalists who oppose Taslima Nasreen. No use getting violent and trying to bash her up. Just lodge a complaint.
