Ratan Tata has done it. Along with of his 500 engineers, he has just launched the Tata Nano. It looks great.
It’s 624 cc
It’s internaly 24 larger that a Maruti 800
Milage : 50KM per Gallon - 20 23KM to the litre
All Indian and international tests have been passed.
Will meet Euro 4 emissions

Finally, something really innvoative engineering (non-military) comes out of India. This should help propel the modernization of infrastructure development and the Indians should realize that innovation is the fuel that fuels the market, and in order to be a successful economy, the innovation tank should consistently spill out new products to sustain it.

once the car gets produced, a new class of owners ( hitherto 2 wheeler owners) gets created, and there is an immense market across the subcontinent and also south asia.. it can become a mini- auto too.. wow the list is endless..
kudos Mr Tata for the sheer audacity to state - and then make and the awesome team making it happen.
people are already comparing the event to the likes of Beetle, Mustang and Model T. This time , the worlds watching us..

the car is cool but i still wouldnt buy it… it doesnt have some of the very essential basics for the car to be comfortably drivable… this is from what i have read about it so far… i might change my mind after i take a test drive. the seats are non reclining that means u cant even adjust the driver seat. i dont really know how comfortable that will be. and the size that they say is 24% bigger than the 800 is just the increase in headroom because the car is a tad bit taller… what about the legroom?

But it makes you think how come the current selling cars are priced so high. If Tatas can sell such a beauty at 1.0 lac or there abouts why does a khatara Maruti sell at 2.1 lacs. And despite the fact that the costs have been amortised ages back. There is some shameless and audacious profit making going on in the industry..
