Its a disturbing and disgusting news. Quite barbaric too. Cant belive India greeted the new year with this.

…A New Year event at Mumbai’s most famous landmark, the Gateway of India, is making news after it went horribly sour. Drunk revellers stripped and molested a woman in public view, as her friend watched helplessly…
Shadab Khan, a photographer with a local Mumbai daily, Mid-Day, was covering the event from a temporary police watchtower.
…”The woman was yelling but at that time, the rest of the people were also screaming because the New Year was just a few minutes away so her voice got drowned in the crowd,”…
If anyone could identify these men in these fotos, please do inform the police.

After reading Maximum city by Suketu Mehta I am ready to believe that any thing can happen in Mumbai. I had always believed that Delhi was the rape capital of India but now Mumbai is catching up. I think it is time for a men’s liberation movement- increase consciousness among the men folk to actually do something about this problem before it spirals out of control.

This incident is truly ‘DISGUSTING MUMBAI’. This ashames Mumbai and leaves a question in everybody’s mind “Is Mumbai Safe for women??”
But, even the male friend of the gal should had used his brains. Can’t he understand when there is such a huge mob screaming and howling why the hell he should take his friend in middle of those hulligans?
Those hulligans must be given a death sentence by court, as it happens in Dubai or Riyadh, for women teasing.
This type of Justice would save Mumbai from these type of incidents.

I’m from South Africa. The picture painted to us foreigners is that India treats its women like they’re beneath men. This only strengthens those views and saddens me that things like this still happen. I’m disgusted!
