RDB for Oscars

Rang De Basanti is India’s official entry to the Oscars this year. This is a shocker. I’ll keep my views about the film to myself, but the Film Federation of India should by now know the kind of movies that win Oscars and Rang de Basanti certainly doesn’t fall into that category. And surely, the film’s no match forOmkara. Maqbool was perfect Oscar material, though the director then did not submit the entry, but Omkara, had it been the Indian entry would have had a bright chance to get a nomination.
The thrid major movie in the fray was Lage Raho.. Seems that the Mahatma loses out to a bunch of violent youngsters.

Yes Omkaara is certainly a better made film. Even Lage Raho was good. But unfortunately we send films that “we think” that the western sensibilities will understand rather than send our best film!

i’m so hopelessly sad and devastated at RDB’s selection for oscars.
What message are we giving to the world by seding RDB???
(1)that we are a ´set of narrow minded people trying to OVER simplify our problems by targetting an individual for the problems in the system and society ……
    (2) that we are a set of violent people looking to even kill our parents at the slightest provocation …
    (3) that our humour is crassy …..
    (4) and we don’t have good script writers …

    shocked .. saddened …
